Timers and the Notification Center
When a timer ends a sound will be played and an alert will be displayed. If the app is currently active and open, this will be in the form of a popup alert and the sound volume will be the regular volume currently in use.
However, if the app is closed the timer will instead trigger a standard system notification. It is important to note that the iOS Notifications have their own set of rules with respect to the volume, sounds and style of alerts. These are configured by the user in the Settings app as follows:
Settings ->Notifications -> Notification Center is where you can control the alert style and whether sounds are turned on or off. Sounds will need to be ON if you wish to have an audible alarm when the timer ends. The Alert Style can be either None, Banners or Alerts. Note that Alerts are the most prominent as it forces a popup to appear rather than the self dismissing Banner style. If None is selected, there will be no alert when the timer ends so this setting is not recommended.
Settings -> Sounds -> Ringers and Alerts controls the VOLUME only of the timer notification sound. It is recommended you turn this up when using timers so as not to miss the alarm.
Settings ->Notifications -> MyApp -> Notification Center -> ON
Settings ->Notifications -> MyApp -> Alert Style -> Alerts
Settings ->Notifications -> MyApp -> Sounds -> ON
Settings ->Notifications -> MyApp -> View in Lock Screen -> ON
Settings -> Sounds -> Ringers and Alerts -> at least half volume
This is available from Oomph Version 19+. Please check what your application is before implementing this feature.
