It is possible to link to other pages and sections within your app. This works especially well on your Cover or Contents page. Just create a hotspot and name it:
P[SECTION NAME]-[PAGE NUMBER]
For example, if your page is named Contents-1, then your hyperlink will be named PContents-1.
Please refer to the following article on Share Widgets if you are experiencing problems using the approach below: https://support.oomphhq.com/entries/21746062-share-widgets
An email link will open up your mail on your iPad and will insert the email address you have entered in your hotspot.
To create a email link in InDesign type in the email address like the following example:
To add a subject line use the following:
To add a body use the following:
If you are creating HTML content, you can use this style of URL:
Depending on how you produce your Oomph content and its type (e.g. PDF, HTML, text, etc), you may need to URL encode the subject & body to form a valid URL. There are online URL encoders available to help with this.
In your hotspot just type in a URL to a website and when this is tapped, the web page will open up within your app - for example:
App Store Links
You may wish to advertise another application that you publish, or provide this service as part of an advertisement package. To link to another application in the app store, all you need to do is create a hotspot with the link to that application; e.g. http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/oomph-viewer/id495083549?ls=1&mt=8.
Now that you have the link to the application there are a few interesting things that you can do to this link to modify how it behaves.
1. Stop the link from opening a full screen browser within the application, before launching the App Store.
To do this all you need to do is change the http prefix to itms-apps e.g. itms-apps://itunes.apple.com/us/app/oomph-viewer/id495083549?ls=1&mt=8.
2. Change the stores location for your application.
The above link will open the U.S. store for Oomph Viewer, when we wish to share this link with an Australian for example, we can just change part of the url to tell the store to open the Australian Store. All you need to do is locate the 'us' part in the url, and change it will 'au'. So the above mentioned link would change to
If you do not wish to specify a store, you can use the worldwide prefix, by changing the url to contain 'wa'
